Responsibilities
The candidate will lead the Supply Chain process for several ingredient categories with primary responsibility for the purchasing of various food ingredients and packaging for the Japan Business Unit.  Other responsibilities will be to develop and manage supplier relationships in conjunction with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Finance, and Customer Service).  Negotiate and manage ingredient and packaging contracts that emphasis Quality, service & Continuous Improvement. Develop and manage the budgetary process for assigned categories and for the associated Purchase Price Variance (PPV) for Japan.  This person will also lead and/or support cross functional teams that impact Japan’s Strategic Positioning.  The candidate will also work closely with several internal stakeholders to assure an optimized cost of use for their category responsibilities.  In addition, they will communicate with internal and external customers on raw material issues and pricing variances to the Operating Plan.  This individual will also be expected to drive process solutions, have strong project management skills, and a proven history of cost savings.
 
Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years in Purchasing (food Industry exp a plus)
Supplier Relationship Management
Commodity risk management 
Proven negotiation experience
Good technical knowledge of food ingredients and packaging is preferred
Cross functional project management
Proven cost savings background
Logistic background a plus, import process experience a plus.
Understanding of MRP/ERP systems
Contract development and management
Global sourcing a plus
University degree
Professional certifications a plus
Good English speaking/writing skills
