Responsibilities
– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
– Analyze variances, business performance, and financial trends, and suggest improvements.
– Maintain and update cash flow forecasts.
– Coordinate with external accountants for year-end adjustments and statutory filings.
– Ensure compliance with internal controls and group reporting rules.
– Manage statutory filings, audits (statutory, tax, VAT, internal), and tax advisors.
– Review balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on issues.
– Manage AP processes.
– Upload payment data to the bank system and execute payments.
– Handle AR for wholesale partners.
– Manage collections from department stores and shopping centers.
– Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
– Process accounting entries for inventory and imported goods.
– Verify inventory movements and work with warehouse/logistics teams.
– Ensure accurate COGS calculation and inventory valuation.
– Coordinate depreciation and fixed asset accounting with the accounting firm.
– Maintain asset master data and ensure correct capitalization.
– Serve as a core member of the upcoming ERP implementation.
– Support business process redesign.
– Identify automation and efficiency improvement opportunities.
– Work closely with store operations, logistics, and marketing teams.
– Provide financial insights and analysis to management
Qualifications
– 5+ years of accounting or controllership experience, including monthly and annual closing.
– Experience in retail, consumer goods, or any business that manages inventory.
– Knowledge of department store and shopping center transaction flows is a strong advantage.
– Solid Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
– Basic English reading and writing skills for email communication with HQ.
– Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
– Solid understanding of J-GAAP for preparing statutory financial statements.
Welcome skills and experience:
– Experience with ERP implementation, workflow automation, or process improvement.
– Familiarity with mid-sized ERP or accounting systems.
– Background in small to mid-sized companies where accounting roles are broad and hands-on.
– Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is preferred.
