Responsibilities

– Supervise, train, and support the daily operations of the accounting team
– Work as a player‑manager, including preparing data and entering it into the accounting system
– Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial closing
– Oversee monthly account reconciliations, including cash and other key accounts
– Collaborate closely with the HQ Finance team and global teams
– Support reporting requirements and help implement scalable financial systems and processes
– Monitor and manage cash activities, including cash flow and payments
– Prepare documentation for tax filings and coordinate with external accountants
– Improve and develop local accounting processes in Japan
– Provide general support across the Finance Department
– Support internal controls, including ringi, contracts, and related processes

Qualifications

– 7+ years of accounting experience
– Bachelor’s degree, ideally in accounting or a related field
– Strong written and verbal communication skills; Japanese and English proficiency required
– Retail industry experience preferred
– Experience with major ERP systems is a plus
