Responsibilities

– Responsible for all finance-related activities in the Japan commercial organization, with a strong focus on business partnering
– Ensure the local team receives proper support in compliance, internal controls, and legal matters (working with internal/external counsel)
– Coach and develop the local finance team to build strong capabilities, improve efficiency, and create a positive work environment
– Support the local business in protecting profit margins and driving sustainable revenue growth by providing insights and business cases
– Analyze financial data and take action to help the region meet its financial goals
– Ensure effective pricing strategies to reach financial targets and maximize impact
– Communicate financial policies and information clearly across the organization to improve understanding and alignment
– Lead or participate in key projects to ensure successful outcomes
– Guide and support the finance team to ensure strong performance, efficient work processes, and compliance
– Align team goals with the company’s strategy and ensure individual performance plans reflect this
– Track and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to boost business awareness and decision-making
– Ensure accurate, timely accounting and reporting that meets local regulations and follows IFRS/GAAP standards
– Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant local tax reporting. Collaborate with Group Finance and Tax teams on tax planning

Qualifications

– Over 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably with small to mid-sized U.S. or European companies
– 5+ years of leadership experience managing finance or accounting teams
– Solid background in business partnering, financial controlling, and business planning
– Business-level Japanese with proven experience working with non-Japanese stakeholders
– Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and JGAAP to support accurate accounting and reporting
