Responsibilities

– Prepare and manage timely and accurate financial reports for both local statutory and group consolidation purposes.
– Ensure full compliance with JGAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulations.
– Oversee tax filings, audit, and liaise with external advisors and regulatory authorities.
– Monitor and control trading transactions to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
– Maintain strong internal controls and support internal and external audit processes.
– Supervise accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and cash flow.
– Collaborate with regional and corporate finance teams to ensure alignment with group policies.
– Lead and support a small local finance team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
– Stay current with changes in financial regulations and ensure timely implementation of necessary updates.

Qualifications

– 8+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting, compliance, and transaction control within Japan.
– Solid understanding of JGAAP, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
– Hands-on experience with operational finance and accounting processes.
– Proficiency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
– Experience with ERP systems; SAP or Oracle preferred.
