Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance team structure: Head of finance and 5 staff (both accounting and FP&A)

– Lead teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable results aligned with group standards. Accountable for financial performance and business development in Japan
– Analyze financial data and prepare accurate, timely reports. Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual results, highlighting key trends and changes
– Support annual budgeting and planning. Monitor actuals vs. plans, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions
– Advise Japan’s CEO on financial models and trends. Partner with leaders to drive business growth from a financial perspective
– Oversee all financial operations, ensuring expenses align with budgets and project reports are accurate and complete
– Manage cash flow forecasting in partnership with business teams and strengthen financial systems and operations
– Prepare and review financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders
– Maintain and audit financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
– Supervise accounting functions, ensuring regulatory and standards compliance
– Maintain strong internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets
– Lead audit activities and provide related guidance
– Analyze Japan’s financial data and monitor internal controls
– Provide financial insights for new business development and work with the regional team on expansion
– Engage with Japan’s finance team, coaching and supporting development and performance
– Handle ad-hoc requests from regional leadership as needed

Qualifications

– Over 5 years of experience in financial accounting, planning, analysis, cash flow management, and business planning. Strong FP&A expertise with a focus on accurate forecasting and financial sustainability. Experience in the agriculture sector is a plus
– Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college (Japan or overseas)
– Language skills: Native-level Japanese, business-level English (able to communicate with stakeholders in Japan and the Tropical Region, especially the Philippines)
– Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for management presentations.
– Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle etc
