Responsibilities

– Drive the monthly closing, forecasting, and reporting processes for Japan.
– Prepare and review journal entries for daily business transactions.
– Ensure the month-end process is executed in a timely and accurate manner.
– Collaborate with the global finance team on accounting-related matters.
– Act as a finance business partner to the Japan commercial teams by contributing to local business development and building financial awareness across the organization.
– Manage and participate in departmental projects, supporting process and system improvements.
– Provide insights on significant deviations, propose corrective measures, and ensure follow-up on action plans.
– Prepare and distribute monthly management reports, including actual vs. forecast performance and variance analysis, to local management
– Analyze financial information to recommend and implement corrective actions that support delivery of financial objectives
– Facilitate smooth cooperation and information flow to support local compliance, reporting accuracy, and timely submission of reporting filings. Ensure all statutory filings and payments are completed on-time with high quality & accuracy
– Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and supporting the completion of statutory audits within required timelines
– Serve as the key liaison between the finance function and the Global Business Services for accounting matters

Qualifications

– Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to clearly convey financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
– 5+ years of Accounting experience at multi-national companies are must. Plus to have 2+ years of FP&A experience.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data and drive actionable recommendations.
– Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP) and/or Business Intelligence tools; working knowledge of Power BI is a plus
