Responsibilities

Report: Japan President and Global HR Head (Europe)

Position will start off as a standalone HR Manager with external support, mainly in charge of leading a major strategic spinoff project.

– Lead all HR functions for employees across corporate, commercial, plant, and R&D in Japan
– Serve as the primary HR contact, ensuring alignment with Japanese labor law and effective labor relations.
– Manage recruitment, employee relations, performance management, C&B, and workforce planning.
– Oversee HR vendors and ensure accuracy in HR administration and payroll data.
– Drive local implementation of global HR policies, adapting for compliance and cultural fit in Japan.
– Lead talent acquisition and retention strategies in partnership with business leaders.
– Champion employee engagement and inclusion to foster a strong company culture.
– Spearhead HR transformation efforts, including HRIS rollout and post-merger integration initiatives.

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree or higher
– Business level English
– 7+ years progressive HR experience
– Strong communication skills
– Good stakeholder management and influencing skills
– Problem-solving / results-driven mindset
