Responsibilities

-Report to Procurement Manager
-12 staff in team
-Plan and execute strategic purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
-Lead cost reduction initiatives, including annual price negotiations and VA/VE activities involving raw material manufacturers.
-Negotiate long-term agreements with suppliers to ensure stable and favorable contract terms.
-Manage and optimize supply chain operations to ensure efficiency and reliability.
-Drive supplier improvement initiatives across Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) metrics.
-Evaluate quotations for new parts and lead supplier selection processes.
-Identify and select sourcing partners based on performance, reliability, and strategic value.
-Travel internationally 2–3 times per year to visit suppliers and support global sourcing activities.
-Monitor and assess supplier KPIs to ensure alignment with global performance standards.
-Collaborate closely with internal departments such as R&D, quality, logistics, and finance to support integrated operations.

Qualifications

-5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or related fields
-Experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred
-Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
-Possession of a valid driver’s license is a plus
-Willingness and ability to travel for business as needed
-Strong logical thinking and organizational skills
-Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders
-Demonstrates a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and persistence in negotiations and adjustments
-Able to accurately assess dynamic situations, demonstrate curiosity, and take initiative
-Proactive communicator with a drive to act independently and contribute meaningfully
