Responsibilities

-Calculate container requirements based on weekly/monthly supply plans
-Monitor awarded volumes submitted for ocean tenders
-Adjust container plans as needed to secure shipping space
-Initiate mini-bids or spot rate requests as per business needs, following proper processes
-Track ETD, ETA, and transshipment schedules for each container to ensure timely supply
-Monitor for vessel delays, port omissions, and blank sailings
-Collaborate with factories, distribution centers (DCs), and customers to maintain inbound logistics quality
-Collect and verify import documentation to meet local customs requirements
-Serve as the main contact for customs brokers or 3PL partners
-Ensure timely container pick-up from ports to avoid demurrage charges
-Coordinate inland delivery to warehouses or customers
-Verify freight invoices from carriers and match against contracted rates
-Manage and track applicable surcharges
-Work with Finance to support freight cost roll-ups and accrual forecasts (non-T&W)
-Lead or participate in assigned initiatives and projects

Qualifications

-3+ years of experience in import, export, or logistics
-University degree
-Business-level English
-Business-level Japanese
-Experience with supply chain management systems (SAP, SNP, WMS), including application and/or development
-Experience handling costs, cash flow, and service levels in an import/export environment
-Third-party logistics (3PL) partnerships knowledge
-Strong knowledge of:
-International trading and customs-bonded park operations
-Import/export processes and practices
-Strong analytical and data manipulation skills
-Process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational efficiency
-Self-motivated and results-driven
-Strong communicator with leadership potential
