Responsibilities

-Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business growth and future product plans.
-Lead purchasing activities in Japan, ensuring competitive cost, high quality, on-time delivery, and stable supply.
-Build and develop supplier strategies, selecting the right suppliers and components based on business needs, market trends, technology, and supply capabilities.
-Lead cost improvement and VA/VE activities, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to improve product competitiveness.
-Build strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers in Japan and overseas, while driving supplier performance and continuous improvement.
-Identify and manage supply chain risks, ensuring stable supply through risk planning, alternative sourcing, and business continuity measures.
-Improve procurement processes and ways of working, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams.
-Lead and develop the procurement team by setting clear goals, supporting team growth, and promoting a strong, compliant, and high-performing organization.

Qualifications

-7+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in manufacturing
-Bachelor’s Degree
-Business-level Japanese
-Business-level English
-Experience with supplier management, negotiations, delivery, and stable supply
-Experience working with overseas suppliers, offices, or global teams
-Strong communication and negotiation skills
-Background in business, management, supply chain, or a related field is preferred
