Responsibilities

Transportation Operations
– Oversee daily domestic transportation operations nationwide
– Grow both carrier-arranged and customer-arranged inland haulage service lines
– Develop and manage relationships with trucking partners, rail providers, and other logistics vendors
– Track service quality and drive ongoing operational improvements

Business Development
– Help grow the company’s domestic/inland logistics business
– Identify new opportunities across trucking, rail, and combined transport modes
– Promote inland transport services to support the company’s ocean freight import volumes

Vendor and Carrier Management
– Negotiate rates and terms with transport providers and subcontracted carriers
– Monitor vendor performance, service levels, and compliance standards

Qualifications

<Required>
– 5–10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, container shipping, or 3PL operations
– Strong understanding of domestic transportation networks in Japan
– Experience managing trucking operations, carrier relationships, or inland logistics solutions
– Experience negotiating with transportation providers and logistics partners

<Languages>
– Fluent Japanese
– Business-level English (written and spoken)

Welcome

– Experience in container shipping, intermodal transportation, or container logistics
– Experience in freight forwarding, depot operations, or warehousing
– Knowledge of domestic feeder, rail, and multimodal transportation services
– Experience arranging truck or domestic coastal shipping transportation for ocean freight containers
– Customs Broker (Licensed Customs Specialist) qualification
