Responsibilities

-Act as an indirect partner for the assigned country/region, ensuring stakeholder management, process compliance, timely support, and problem-solving
-Engage key influencers to build sponsorship for organizational change
-Implement team decisions effectively, even amidst uncertainty
-Develop category strategies as a sub-category owner
-Manage supplier relationships as the single point of contact within the country/region
-Optimize and rationalize the supplier base for the assigned country/region
-Negotiate long-term and spot contracts with suppliers, manage the contract lifecycle, and ensure timely updates before expiration
-Gather supply market intelligence and scout new suppliers to support business growth
-Manage supplier performance across cost, on-time delivery, quality, and service
-Improve field spend year-over-year through supplier negotiations
-Enhance working capital year-over-year via effective supplier DPO (Days Payable Outstanding) management
-Promote solution standardization and increase repeat purchase rates
-Implement end-to-end procurement processes

Qualifications

-5+ years of indirect sourcing/procurement experience
-Bachelor’s degree
-Skilled negotiator with strong contracting knowledge and persuasive communication
-Experienced in market analysis, strategy development, and cost-reduction initiatives
-Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
-Adaptable and effective in fast-changing environments
-Proven ability to work in multicultural and cross-functional teams
-Background in innovative, cost-conscious organizations preferred
-High standards of honesty and integrity
-Fluent in Japanese and English; Chinese language skills are a plus
-Open to business travel
