Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
– Partner with leadership on business, people, and HR strategy
– Lead organizational design, workforce and succession planning, and change initiatives
– Drive organizational effectiveness and restructuring efforts
Talent & Organization Development
– Lead talent reviews, performance management, leadership development, and engagement
– Provide coaching, career development, and succession planning support
Recruitment
– Develop recruitment strategies, workforce plans, and executive hiring
Compensation & Rewards
– Oversee payroll governance, compensation management, and incentive programs
Employee & Labor Relations
– Manage employee relations, disciplinary and grievance matters
– Advise on labor law compliance, work rules, harassment, and leave management
HR Operations
– Oversee HR operations, employee lifecycle management, onboarding, and compliance
– Drive process improvement and HR administration
HRIS & Analytics
– Manage HRIS, data governance, reporting, and workforce analytics
– Partner with Global HR and IT on system enhancements
Compliance, Audit & Governance
– Ensure compliance with labor laws and corporate policies
– Maintain HR policies, audit readiness, and governance processes
Health & Wellbeing
– Lead wellbeing initiatives, injury management, and health & safety activities
Global & Executive Collaboration
– Serve as the key liaison between Japan and Global HR
– Lead regional and global HR projects
General Affairs Oversight
– Oversee office operations governance and coordinate support functions
Qualifications
– 10+ years of HR experience, including 6+ years as an HRBP
– Full-range HR generalist and HRBP experience, with the ability to operate independently
– People management experience with a track record in strategic planning and org transformation
– Deep expertise across the full talent management cycle
– Experience in a foreign-owned company, balancing global HQ and local priorities
– Business level English proficiency for global meetings and stakeholder engagement
– Excellent communication, influencing, and active listening skills
– Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities
– Solid knowledge of payroll, income tax, and general affairs operations
– Familiarity with HCM platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent)
