Responsibilities

– Plan and execute initiatives for material cost reduction and productivity improvement based on business plans and budgets
– Deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders
– Collaborate with global purchasing organizations and internal departments to support price negotiations and supplier improvement activities
– Partner with suppliers on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and supply stability initiatives
– Build relationships and manage performance with assigned suppliers
– Deploy and maintain globally defined purchasing standards and processes across sites
– Collaborate with site purchasing managers and category leaders to develop and achieve purchasing budgets
– Identify supply chain risks and formulate/execute mitigation plans
– Ensure logistics processes and shipping conditions for purchased parts are properly managed
– Comply with internal purchasing systems, processes, and supplier qualification standards; drive quality improvements

Qualifications

– Experience in purchasing, or sales/new product planning at a trading company or similar (industry and years of experience open)
– Experience delivering presentations, both internal and external
– Japanese: business-advanced to native level (used for internal communication)
– English: not required for the hiring process itself (on-the-job support available)
