Responsibilities

– Manage the company’s insurance program (marine, non-marine global, and local insurance)
– Handle cargo claims end-to-end: investigation, negotiation, settlement, and recovery actions
– Escalate critical issues to senior/global management with clear analysis and recommendations
– Liaise with stakeholders including insurers, customers, vendors, and internal operational departments
– Conduct regulatory audits and compliance training
– Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; support audit readiness and execution
– Drive continuous improvement in risk governance, loss prevention, and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

– Experience in import/export or international trade operations (freight forwarder, manufacturer, or trading company)
– Good understanding of end-to-end international logistics (cargo handling, customs clearance, transportation)
– Minimum 5 years of professional work experience
– Native-level Japanese (able to discuss insurance/financial matters professionally)
– Business-level English reading/writing (TOEIC ~660+ preferred; AI/translation tools acceptable for written work; frequent English phone calls not expected, though occasional communication with overseas HQ may be required)
– Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
