Responsibilities
HR Operations
– Provide end-to-end HR operational support across the employee lifecycle (hire-to-retire)
– Maintain accurate employee data in Workday and local HR systems, ensuring data accuracy through quality checks
– Handle social insurance enrollment and withdrawal procedures
– Support onboarding, employee documentation, and HR orientation
– Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, tracking requests to ensure timely resolution
HR Systems & Data Management
– Serve as a key user for Workday and local HR/payroll systems
– Maintain HR data integrity and support HRIS enhancements, testing, and new system functionality
– Promote effective use of HR systems, including employee and manager self-service
Payroll & Compliance
– Support payroll processing in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
– Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders
– Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements
HR Transformation & Process Improvement
– Support HR transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, including digitalization, automation, and process standardization
– Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve service delivery
– Participate in HR and cross-functional projects, including system implementations
– Collaborate with global and regional teams to align HR best practices
– Support training administration and HR programs as needed
HR Policies & Governance
– Support implementation of HR policies in line with labor laws, company governance, and global guidelines
– Assist with the review and maintenance of HR policies, employee handbook, and work rules
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
– Minimum 2–3 years of HR Operations experience, preferably in an MNC environment
– Knowledge of labor laws and regulations and social insurance procedures
Language
– Fluency in Japanese required
– Business-level English proficiency preferred
Skills & Competencies
– Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement / “can-do” attitude
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
– Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
– Strong Excel / data handling skills
ability to use advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, IF, COUNTIF, and SUMIF
– Ability to follow standardized processes while identifying opportunities for operational improvement
Preferred
– Exposure to HR technologies (e.g., Workday, HRIS, local HR systems)
– Experience supporting HR policy updates, employee handbook, or labor compliance processes
– Experience in HR transformation, process improvement, or automation initiatives
– Experience leveraging data analytics, reporting tools, or AI solutions in HR operations
– Experience supporting process standardization, operational excellence, or knowledge management initiatives is a plus
